CAFRA continues its linkage with regional NGOs at the highest levels, for example
(1) Deputy Chair of the Caribbean Policy Development Center (CPDC)
(2) Chair of the Functional Cooperation Committee
(3) Chair of the OXFAM/DFID Capacity Building Project Advisory Committee
(4) Coordinator of the Caribbean Gender and Trade Network
(5) Member of the Caribbean Reference Group on Trade
These roles allow CAFRA to ensure the gender component in the issues and programmes, and give it access to training, funding and advocacy opportunities. Through its work as a member of the Caribbean Reference Group on Trade, CAFRA participated in the conduct of research and preparation of Position Papers on Trade Liberalisation and the World Trade Organisation. This information was used for lobbying purposes at the Fourth Ministerial of the World Trade Organisation held in Doha, Qatar in November. The material was also useful for the Economic Literacy Seminar held on the Dominican Republic during December, which focused on Gender and Trade.
