The Chairperson’s Narrative Report for the period 1997-2002 was adopted. It covered:

    • Strengthening of Leadership

    • Programme focus and Projects
    • Resource Mobilisation
    • Beijing+5
    • Highlights of National Reports
    • Organizational tools
    • New Opportunities

The comprehensive reports of the National Representatives enhanced the presentation.

Inclusion of Martinique as another focal point to be represented on the Regional Committee. Due to the efforts of Charistaline Merrifield and Flavia Cherry a National committee now exists in Martinique.


The Training Tools produced by CAFRA were endorsed for use in capacity building.

Both the incumbent Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson indicated that they would not accept nominations as they had served the equivalent of two terms. They gave moving closing addresses, encouraging membership to advance the feminist agenda.
