The 49th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women was held at UN Headquarters from 28th February – 11th March, 2005.
CAFRA’s official representatives were Chairwoman, Margaret Gill and Sara Malave Lebron, CAFRA National Representative of Puerto Rico.
Three important publications were launched at this event:
(a) Peggy Antrobus’ book on the Global Women’s Movement
(b)“Beijing Betrayed” – an assessment of progress on the Beijing Platform for Action for the Advancement of Women. The publication was produced by the Women’s Environmental Development Organisation (WEDO) and CAFRA conducted the research for the CARICOM region
(c)Government/Civil Society Partnership showcased through a series of case studies commissioned by the Commonwealth Foundation.
The CAFRA Domestic Violence Intervention/Prevention Project was highlighted in the publication
