Organisational Strengthening

The CAFRA National Groups are vital organs of the organisation. It is therefore necessary to ensure that the membership receives necessary information and training.

A project supported by OXFAM was designed specifically to strengthen membership in the areas of Leadership Training, Gender Issues, Disaster Preparedness, Website Development, Marketing and Fund Raising.

An analysis of progress on the Beijing Platform for Action was done, against the limitations of the negative impact of trade liberalisation. This was done through a Paper, Beijing + 10 meets WTO + 10, since both landmark events were agreed to in 1995.

Website Development

The website is now updated with the services of a computer technician for the physical aspects of linking the computers, and two interns who uploaded the material. A training course was held for three persons, two of whom are CAFRA staff members, and one volunteer, who will keep the website current with relevant articles.
