- ...Focused largely on women’s economic development, education and health within a human rights framework. Our national and regional spread, with international linkages, has enabled us to build programmes and advocacy campaigns around the twelve (12) critical areas of concern in the Beijing Platform for Action.

- ...Concentrated on Advocacy and Lobbying as a follow-up to the Beijing process. It has used its network to disseminate information on the twelve critical areas of concern. Research on legal frameworks has provided vital information to the lobby. Specific projects have been undertaken to build the capacity of women and women’s organisations at the grassroots level.
CAFRA’s expertise has contributed to United Nations inter-governmental agencies, CARICOMN Secretariat, and governments in promoting good gender practices, and gender mainstreaming through women’s bureaus. National level activity has kept issues in the forefront through marches, rallies and joint educational programmes.

- ... Focused on women as direct beneficiaries. In the process we work through women’s organisations, other civil society organisations, the media and the private sector. CAFRA’s role as an important social movement in the Caribbean causes it to interface with government and state institutions at national and regional levels. CAFRA works within regional NGO networks to promote issues of gender and to build alliances to advance the Platform for Action. CAFRA has obtained accreditation to the United Nations, and has carried out extensive work on making International financial Institutions accountable to women.

- ...Functioned as NGO Focal Point for the Caribbean sub-region for the Beijing preparatory process and the Conference itself, as well as the follow up activities. Conducted research on tourism and the Sex Trade. Researched the incidence of Domestic Violence in the Caribbean. Implemented a Domestic Violence Intervention and Prevention Training Course for Police and Social Workers. Performed as the Caribbean focal point for the UNIFEM International Campaign against Violence to Women and Girls.

- ...Acted as the Caribbean sub-regional focal point for the Beijing+5 Review. We participated in preparatory conferences, organised national level activity and regional meetings to share information and develop the Caribbean position. CAFRA attended CSW in March 2000, and UNGASS in June 2000, and had representatives on two government delegations.

- Yes, CAFRA assisted in disseminating information on the World March against Poverty and Violence against Women (8 March – 17 October 2000), and sent a representative to the March in New York.
